Seaborn’s SABR cable is currently being developed by Seaborn to be the first southern Atlantic route between South Africa and Brazil.
SABR will interconnect with Seabras-1 in northeast Brazil, thereby enabling the most direct route between South Africa and the US via Brazil.
SABR will also enable the first subsea fiber optic cable access for the islands of Ascension and Saint Helena in the South Atlantic.
The unique SABR + Seabras-1 route will offer a dramatically shorter geographic route, with significantly lower latency, fewer hops and greater reliability than any existing alternative paths between South Africa and the U.S.
Importantly, Seabras-1 + SABR enables an entirely new route of global communications for communications between the US, on the one hand, and Middle East, East Africa and Asia, on the other hand, which will be via Cape Town.
